Just me going off on one about various things...
Uncool Sam 2 - STFU
Yay! So, I did my second solo live gig...it went something like this:
I have been a member of an online music collective called STFU for a while now. The idea behind it is that people register on the
STFU forum and show an interest and then people on the site organise events all over the place, where members of the collective play.
So, I got to play at the
Edinburgh event in the wee hours of the 8th of October 2007. I really enjoyed it, despite playing at 2am on a Monday morning, with only a few of the hardcore STFU crew left - respec'.
This time, there is a bit more in the way of video footage :
clip 1 clip 2 clip 3 (kindly donated by Mark) but there were technical problems (again) with recording the audio from the set. No worries...we'll record the next one :)
As well as the music, the people were amazing. Thanks to Mark for sorting everything and to everyone who made it something really special! Big up the STFU massive!
Uncool Sam 1 - Virgin Voyage
YAY! I played my first public gig last Friday. It went really well!! Few technical hitches but I dealt with them and people really loved it.
Here is a
little blog I wrote on the night of the event...captures the mood better than I can now :)
Check out the
photos section of my site for a few images from the event. Thanks to everyone that snapped me doing my thing...

OOh yes!
ATP is on my birthday weekend this year. Curated by Portishead with AFX and loads of bands on the Southern Lord label as confirmed highlights for me so far. Would anyone care to join me?

RIP Nick Clarke
Who knows if he was as nice as he sounded but one thing is for sure, his style was much more my kind of thing than that of many interviewers. No wonder people, especially women, get sick of politics. I'm pretty sure this wouldn't be the case if more people like Nick graced the airwaves.

Rant
George W really does my nut sometimes. In my view, anyone that claims to be pro life should surely support embryonic stem cell research. Like everyone, I am biased. I have a close friend who could benefit from these findings. His dad had Huntington's disease...until he topped himself due to the distress it caused him. If I wasn't already mad enough at the idea that
this is more important than
this, I understand that 98% of stem cells are discarded anyway. Most off all, I find it abhorrent that the White House dares to refer to this as tantamount to murder. This is so way off the mark it makes me so fucking frustrated when I think about it.

Venn 2006
Just got back from
Venn 2006 - Stokes Croft, Bristol. Was a top festival with plenty of variety and mad shit...ideal!

Highlights for me were:
-
rose kemp - nearly made me cry
-
tom brosseau - just sang about his amazing life, no bullshit, beautiful voice
-
knowledge of bugs - and his mad toys
-
male - two gorgeous ladies giving it some stick!
-
exile - what a top setup he has, shame he was being drowned out half the time by the delay mad twocsinak!
-
kode 9 - heavy, heavy!
In general it was tops and mad as fudge, which is always fun. Big love to everyone involved! Ooh and...
check this snippet of when assdroids got shed loads of the audience up on the stage (um, note; it's loud!).
Happy birthday Miles
Funnies
This made me chuckle. I hope this tune bring a smile to your face:
KPMG - watch out, it's a catchy little number ;)
